چکیده
The pyrolytic conversion of methane for the production hydrogen and carbon was investigated over nonporous α-Al2O3 surfaces in range 900–1300 °C. Two devices were used: i) a single particle reactor to determine deposition rate at various temperatures ii) fixed bed which both measured. It observed that 1000 °C below, selectivity towards (and hydrogen) initially low fresh (e.g. 38% 250 s reaction time), increasing 100% time. Methane constant 20% during this period. These observations point presence an activation process formation from intermediates products benzene) pyrolysis. A temperature dependent maximum loading observed. When reached, also stopped completely, indicating hydrogen. kinetic models derived applied. After parameterization these using data, they able predict growth CH4 as function temperature, specific area, gas composition new data set bed.

متن کاملOzone decomposition kinetics on alumina: effects of ozone partial pressure, relative humidity and repeated oxidation cycles
The room temperature kinetics of gas-phase ozone loss via heterogeneous interactions with thin alumina films has been studied in real-time using 254 nm absorption spectroscopy to monitor ozone concentrations. The films were prepared from dispersions of fine alumina powder in methanol and their surface areas were determined by an in situ procedure using adsorption of krypton at 77 K. The alumina...
متن کاملDecomposition of Graphs on Surfaces
Let G=(V, E) be an Eulerian graph embedded on a triangulizable surface S. We show that E can be decomposed into closed curves C1 , ..., Ck such that mincr(G, D)= i=1 mincr(Ci , D) for each closed curve D on S. Here mincr(G, D) denotes the minimum number of intersections of G and D$ (counting multiplicities), where D$ ranges over all closed curves D$ freely homotopic to D and not intersecting V....
متن کاملStructure and Growth Kinetics of Films Formed by the Thermal Decomposition of CCl4 on Iron Surfaces
Carbon tetrachloride thermally decomposes on iron in the temperature range 500-700 K to form films that consist predominantly of iron chloride. Two growth regimes are found: (1) parabolic, where the film thickness (X) varies as a function of time as X2 ∼ t and where the growth rate is independent of pressure, and (2) a linear growth region (X ∼ t), where the growth kinetics are first order in C...
